Dhan Prasad (b. January 15, 1975, Hyderabad) is a contemporary Indian artist whose journey began under the mentorship of Guru Sri T. Vaikuntam at Jawahar Bal Bhavan, Hyderabad. He passed the Senior Art Certificate from the Government of Bhopal (1987), followed by Drawing Lower and Higher Grade examinations in 1988 and 1992 from the Government of Andhra Pradesh. He further pursued fine arts at JNTU College of Fine Arts, Hyderabad, in 1994, though he was unable to complete the BFA program.
Specializing in figurative art, Dhan works across acrylics on paper or canvas, charcoal, and pen-and-ink drawings. His art is celebrated for its bright, vivid palette, inspired by the naturally vibrant costumes, ornaments, and surroundings he sees in pilgrimage locations such as Haridwar, Rishikesh, Khumbh Mela, and the Char Dham.
Dhan Prasad’s subjects, fortune tellers, pandits, fakirs, and yogis, are often observed in sacred spaces like temples and dargahs. He regards them as "the people of God," capturing their spiritual presence in compositions with evocative titles like "Journey of Hopes and Wishes", "Back from Darshan", and "He Is Among Us".
